WoodStuff is a family owned and operated business, with the sole proprietor, Jim Hayes.  Jim started building hay wagons, when in the farming business just up the road.  But when farming just wasn’t profitable any longer, he built his first storage shed.

Since that time the “sheds” have gotten bigger and better and they have included, horse barns, T-111 sheds, duratemp, board & batten sheds, large log sided sheds, and garages, as big as 12x30.  WoodStuff also sells dog houses, wells, and a large number of well built picnic tables.  Several years ago they also added some outdoor lawn furniture from Pennsylvania.  At one time they also had pine unfinished furniture built by the Pa Amish, and offered it unfinished, or would finish it for the customer however they wanted it.

What Jim enjoys building the most is his Custom Built Cabins, many of which have been sold to camp sites, hunters, summer campers, and just for getting away.  They sell anything from a “shell” cabin, to insulated, wired, and finished interior and additional rooms.  Cabins sizes run from a 10x10 cabin with a 6’ porch, to the larger 12x24 cabin with a 6’ porch.  They have also built a few larger sheds and cabins on site, and will sell larger cabins on metal frames.

The business is mostly seasonal, but they have worked year around in the past and usually build until the end of the year and occasionally into January.  They will custom build what ever your needs are anytime, if delivery is not able to be done, because of weather conditions, it will be delivered when conditions improve or in the spring.  They are ready to build whenever a customer orders.

Jim has also built some custom type buildings over the years, like a small enclosed front porch that was built at the WoodStuff business location and delivered to the customer.  Also recently he built a round bale storage building for horses to eat out of.

The deliveries are done by Jim’s brother-in-law, Randy, and when it is necessary to have escorts; the escorting is done by either Donna or Randy’s son, Randy Jr.

Jim’s wife, Donna does the bookkeeping, and helps build the picnic tables that they sell.  His daughter, Leeann has been his primary helper since she was 15 and in the past several years has done almost all of the shingling of the roofs.  Jim’s brother, Larry has also helped on and off for many years.  When extra help has been needed for whenever reason, they have also had the help of their other 3 children, Jim, Jeff, and Lori.
